Kathy Baus is from Southern California where she studied graphic design and fine art at California State University, Long Beach and Otis Art Institute, Los Angeles. She moved to Louisiana in 1991 and has been actively engaged in her art and the art community since that time.

For the past five years Kathy has been exploring paint and color. Her current work is influenced by the tradition of color field painting and quilt making. The grid pattern is a starting point, with color being the subject of her paintings.
